What is Notorious THC?

Notorious THC is a powerhouse hybrid created by Humboldt Seed Co., born from a careful selection of high-THC genetics. This strain consistently tests above 30% THC, making it one of the most potent strains available to home growers and commercial cultivators alike.

Lineage: Notorious THC is the offspring of Fortune Cookies x GMO x Humboldt OG, creating a terpene-rich, euphoric hybrid that leans slightly indica but delivers balanced, full-body effects.

The Smoking Experience: Flavor, Aroma, and High

Let’s start with the good stuff — how does Notorious THC smoke?

Flavor & Aroma:

  • Dank, funky garlic and gas on the front end (hello, GMO genetics).

  • Sweet cookie dough and pine undertones on the exhale.

  • A loud nose — just cracking a jar will fill the room with earthy funk.

Effect Profile:

  • Heavy euphoria hits fast and hard.

  • Body melt without couchlock — ideal for unwinding, but still functional.

  • Long-lasting buzz perfect for seasoned smokers looking to zone out and elevate.

How to Grow Notorious THC: Tips for a Thriving Grow

If you’re looking for high-yielding cannabis strains with real bag appeal, Notorious THC hits the mark. Here's what you need to know if you're considering it for your next run.

Indoor Growing

  • Flowering Time: 8–9 weeks

  • Height: Moderate to tall (LST and topping recommended)

  • PPFD Target: 900–1200 µmol/m²/s during flower

  • DLI Target: 35–45 mol/m²/day

  • Nutrients: Responds well to full feeding schedules — be sure to dial in CalMag.

  • Training: Topping, SCROG, and light defoliation help control the vigorous growth.

Pro Tip: Keep airflow strong during late flower. The dense colas can get chunky — too chunky — and prone to mold without proper circulation.

Outdoor Growing

  • Harvest Window: Early October in Northern Hemisphere

  • Climate Preference: Warm and dry, but mold-resistant for humid climates

  • Height: Can reach 6–8 ft with good soil and light

  • Yields: Heavy. Expect up to 2–4 lbs per plant in optimal conditions.

Outdoor growers rave about its resilience and how Notorious THC plants finish with sparkling trichomes and deep purple hues — especially in cooler fall temps.

Why Grow Notorious THC?

Here’s why Notorious THC is worth a spot in your garden — especially if you’re after top-tier homegrown weed:

  • Extreme Potency: Not a marketing gimmick. Consistently tests over 30% THC with a balanced high.

  • Bag Appeal: Dense, frosty buds with dark greens and purples — pure fire in the jar.

  • Smell-Proof Challenge: If you’re growing indoors, be warned — this strain stinks (in the best way). You’ll need a solid carbon filter setup.

  • Genetic Stability: As expected from Humboldt Seed Co., plants grow uniform and respond predictably to training.

It’s not beginner-friendly, but it’s incredibly rewarding for intermediate to advanced growers looking to maximize yield and potency.

Grower’s Journal: Our Experience With Notorious THC

I ran Notorious THC from clone under LED bars in a 3x3 tent using Botanicare nutrients and an AutoPot system. Here's a quick snapshot of our grow cycle:

  • Veg Time: 5 weeks

  • Flower Time: 63 days

  • VPD: 1.2 during early flower, 1.5 late flower

  • EC: 2.0 peak feeding

  • Lighting: ~1200 PPFD across canopy

Observations:

  • Strong vertical growth — topping at least twice is a must.

  • Responded well to Liquid Karma and Silica Blast — tight node spacing and solid stem structure.

  • Smell became intense around week 6 of flower — skunky garlic and cookie gas.

I grew four Notorious THC plants in 3.9-gallon pots under a 240-watt LED light. The final dry yield was 14 ounces total, averaging 3.5 oz per plant. Buds were rock hard, frosty, and sticky to the touch even after cure — with intense bag appeal and a nose that punches through the jar.

Four glass mason jars filled with cured cannabis buds, displayed on a wooden surface with tight lids and vibrant trichome-covered flower inside.
The payoff — 14 ounces of Notorious THC curing in jars, preserving flavor, aroma, and potency for the perfect post-harvest finish.

Common Questions About Notorious THC

Is Notorious THC too strong for beginners?

Yes — at least when it comes to smoking. The high is intense and can overwhelm inexperienced users. Start low and go slow.

Can beginners grow Notorious THC?

Technically yes, but this strain rewards experienced growers who can control environment, nutrients, and training. If it’s your first grow, expect a learning curve.

What’s the best way to store Notorious THC?

Use airtight glass jars with a humidity pack (58–62%). This strain is so loud it can easily leak through less secure storage.

Final Verdict: Is Notorious THC Worth Growing?

Absolutely — if you’re ready for the challenge.

Notorious THC from Humboldt Seed Co. is a potent, flavor-packed strain that rewards careful growers with top-shelf buds that can rival dispensary weed. It's not the easiest cultivar, but if you dial it in, you’ll be rewarded with knockout potency, epic bag appeal, and bragging rights among your grower circle.

Whether you’re trying to grow the strongest weed at home or just want a strain that smells, looks, and hits like a heavyweight, Notorious THC lives up to its name.
